Malfoy nodded at her response, taking it no further. He knew she'd live, but it still irked him that anyone could dare to hurt her. Shaking his head, he allowed any thoughts of hurting her ex to leave his mind.
His eyes rolled at her statement. "Yes, you've discovered one of my deepest and darkest secrets," he teased in return. As the seriousness returned, he listened once again. The door to the common room opened and one of the other students walked in and off to the boy's dorms. He didn't reply until the male had disappeared and sighed softly. "Alright...if you're sure," he said.

Astoria didn't need to know that Draco was going to protect her. Actually, she would have told him not to. She didn't want to make a big scene about herself. A lady would never dare make a big scene. She sighed, and pulled out a package of chocolate frogs, her guilty pleasure. To win her heart over, you bring her a package of chocolate frogs. Or grovel. She does enjoy a good grovel.
She chuckled and shook her head. Good, now I can use it against you. She countered sticking out her tongue and winking. She'd let that boy take her virginity. God she liked him, heck at this point, she practically loved the guys. She watched the boy enter, a boy in her year, the guy smirked to her and winked and kept walking. She pursed her lips a bit and just followed with her eyes. She looked back to Draco. I'll be fine. She said with a casual shrug. At least, I should be. Second thoughts came in.

As she said she would use his 'deepest, darkest secret' against him, he chuckled lightly. When she stuck her tongue out, he shook his head slightly and smiled. I bet you will use it against me. Heaven knows that everyone wants to find something that they can hold over my head. You just happen to be the first to do it," he said teasingly, running a hand through his mussed up hair.
Draco watched the boy look at Astoria and he didn't like it in the least. His eyes seemed to darken and narrow in anger. However, he said nothing. He wasn't going to make a big deal out of it for her sake. But if he ever saw the male again, questions would be asked and warnings would be given. "If you need something, I want you to come to me. Even if it goes against your morals," he said, refering to how she liked to be lady-like.

She chuckled and smirked. That just because you love me enough to tell me your deepest darkest secrets. She said with a shoulder shrug, a tease. Ah she loved to tease him. It brought out the more, not so lady like side to her. And besides, he teased back. It made it so much more enjoyable. Something to compete in. Everything about Draco read: completely perfect. His hair, his face, his body, his personality. There were two things that separated them. Social status, and age.
Hey, but this guy was cute too. Brunette, built, someone she could see herself with. And not to mention very yummy looking. She'd definitely find him at dinner. She smirked a bit at the guy and winked. But she never took flirting any more than that, especially not with strangers. Why? She asked before she could filter it. She cussed mentally. You don't have to answer, I'm sorry. Wasn't thinking.

Draco rolled his eyes in response to her words. He wouldn't say that he loved her, but he definitely liked her. He enjoyed the playful banter that only happened with her. Astoria was the only one he had allowed close enough to him to allow that to happen. She may have been two years below him and not of the same social status, but he didn't care. That alone surprised him.
He took notice of her returning the wink and, even though he knew she was merely flirting, he couldn't help but feel a flicker of jealously emerge within him. Her question surprised him and he was silent for a moment. "Because, contrary to popular belief...I do care...about you at least," he stated, saying with you softly, as though it was a secret of some sort.

Nothing could be taken seriously with playful banter. That's why it was playful. He tended to roll her eyes, so she decided to quit while she was ahead. Astoria did not want to embarrass herself. She was actually pretty close to Draco, they did a lot of playful banter, and a lot of rather weird conversations actually. She ran her hand trough her hair softly, curling it around her finger.
She stopped, her heart skipping a beat when she heard what he had said. She was facing sideways, so she looked up the stairs, away from him, blushing deep read, she bit her lip and started to calm herself down as she choked at a rather cocky response. I would hope so. Friends care for each other. She said, her heart ripped in two.

He had never said a word about liking her before, but now he did. Draco said what he'd been keeping to himself for a little over a year. The had started out as Housemates, then developed a friendship over making people grovel, playful banter began, and soon enough he found himself liking her. Not what he expected and he had tried to pull himself away, but was unsuccessful.
Closing his eyes for a moment at her response, he shook his head. When he opened them, he noticed that she wasn't facing him and he clenched his jaw in a brief moment of hesitation. Taking a step forward, he gently turned her to face him. This was the part he hated, knowing that he could get embarassed beyond belief, but if he didn't take the risk, then he may never know. "I didn't mean as friends," Draco whispered to her.

Astoria had ALWAYS liked Draco, but when they started to hang out, was when she started to REALLY like him. She cackled as he made someone grovel, and then they just hit it off. They moved into playful banter, which, heck she would do half of the things she said when she teased him. Astoria noticed Draco avoided her after a while, trying to stay away from her, but he always came back.
She couldn't let him see her blush, but her face flushed as he turned her around. But, after what he said, she just looked plain confused. I know we're not the best of friends Draco, but I don't get-- It hit her and she blushed nearly as red as a tomato. D-draco... She was positively speechless.

His eyes regarded her softly, as they always seemed to. He noticed the confused look on her face and couldn't help but smile slightly. When the realization hit her, Malfoy thought it was adorable with how brightly she blushed. He had never known Astoria to be speechless, but apparently he'd been able to make her such.
"It's the reason that I avoided you for so long...I didn't know how to handle it," Draco confessed, his eyes leaving hers for just a moment. Astoria was one of those girls who could wrap someone around her little finger with a bat of her eyelashes and Draco was one of the people who had fallen for her charms. However, he knew her more than many others did and that made him like her for more than just her charms.

Her confusion face, was rather adorable. She looked like her brains had been sucked out of her ears, completely out of it. Stupid as heck, but she was a rather bright girl. And she figured it out, he was saying MORE than friends, not less. Which made her cheeks blush like a cherry. She was trying to find words, but she couldn't. Draco was the only one who could ever do this to her.
Draco... She smiled and hugged him around the chest. She was grinning from ear to ear, a soft grin. I feel, the exact. Same. Way. She said softly, not looking at him still blushing. Astoria was the type to make boys want to dream about her, to tease them until they could take it no more and grovel for a date, and even then she would slam the door in their face. But Draco, Draco was another story. He was special, and he felt the same way!

As her face became confused and the blush covered her cheeks, a smile came to Draco's face. He loved how he was the only one to make her speechless. The only one to affect her in such was himself and he always seemed to be surprised by it.
Though hesitant at first, Draco returned Astoria's embrace and placed a kiss to the top of her head. He hated admitting his feelings, but in this case, he would. He felt strongly for Astoria and he wouldn't keep it from her.

Astoria loved Draco's smile, it was so handsome. Especially when it was him, he was always handsome, but especially when he was smiling. He was the only one to make her speechless, he was so perfect is why. She had saved herself for the right persona, and she finally found him. Her one. But she was only thirteen. It wouldn't last.
She was really happy at the moment. But, that moment he kissed her head, caused her to blush more than ever before. She had never been kissed, even on the head. Even by her ex. She wanted to cry, cause it hurt knowing that she would never last that long. She really liked him, she did..

Running his fingers through her hair, a soft sigh escaped his lips. He wanted to make this moment last, but he knew he couldn't. He couldn't have everyone knowing that he liked someone or they would think he was going soft. That was the last thing that he needed. People needed to believe that he still ruled the school and all of the Slytherins.
A part of Draco wished that he didn't have to play this role, but he knew he had to. He had to follow his father's wishes, because he didn't know what would happen if he didn't. Shaking his head slightly, he forced those thoughts out of his head and he smiled at her. However, he could feel that something was off and his brows furrowed. "What's wrong?"

Astoria knew she loved the big bad boy of Slytherin, which just meant he would deny it all the time. Which, meant a secret relationship. Which would be super hard on the girl, cause it meant having to flirt, so that people didn't suspect anything. He had gone soft, but only for her, she didn't want him upset, so she would live through with him pretending to not know who she was when around crabbe and goyle. This was going to torture her though.
Astoria looked up at him. What do you mean? She asked pretending like she didn't know what he was talking about. But he had to ask himself, and she had to ask herself, was this really going to last at this point? He was going to ignore her, and he ruled the school. Which really sucked for her.

Draco looked at Astoria with a look that said he knew better. "You aren't fooling me, Astoria. What's wrong," he asked softly, pulling back slightly so that he could look her in the eyes. He had a feeling that it was because of the fact that he would have to act as though she wasn't anything more than a classmate to him.
"It won't be this way forever," he told her softly. "Just give it a little time. I don't want to keep anything we may have a secret. I just need a little time," Malfoy said softly.
